What is Haviland?
Haviland is a personal AI assistant built and designed by Daniel Dziubek under Fozmu Studios. Unlike most AI tools that live in a tab you have to consciously switch to, Haviland is built around the idea of presence — it's meant to feel less like a tool you open and more like a butler that's already in the room. The name reflects that: a butler, always on standby, always capable.
At its core, Haviland is a web-based AI chat interface. Go to haviland.dev, open the chat, and you're talking to an AI with a distinct, polished personality. It runs in any modern browser with no download, so it's available on desktop, mobile, or anything with a browser.
Beyond a chat box
Haviland goes well past a simple chat window:
- Real-time web search — pulls current information instead of relying only on what the model already knows.
- Local file tools — reads, writes, and browses files on your machine.
- Project Panel — drag-and-drop files, per-conversation workspaces, and live HTML preview inside the app.
- Live streaming — responses stream in real time with visible action steps.
- Plan Mode — Haviland lays out a step-by-step plan for your approval before it executes anything.
- Voice — real-time voice conversation with a reactive gold visualizer and ripple effects, designed to feel alive rather than mechanical.
The biggest recent leap is the Chrome Extension (v2.1+), which turns Haviland from a great AI chat app into something ambient that follows you across every tab and window.
